What is Stamping? What are the Characteristics of Stamping?
Stamping refers to the use of stamping equipment and dies to separate or deform metal or non-metal sheets, thereby obtaining blanks or parts with certain shapes, sizes, and properties.
Characteristics of Stamping:
(1) The thickness of the sheet metal changes very little, and there is no change in the internal structure.
(2) The production efficiency is high and it is easy to achieve mechanization and automation in production.
(3) Stamped parts have precise dimensions, and most of them do not require further mechanical processing.
(4) Stamping processing has a wide range of adaptability and can produce stamped parts with complex shapes.
The commonly used stamping plates include low-carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper and their alloys, which have good plasticity, low deformation resistance, and are suitable for cold processing.
