Application of Aluminum Alloy Precision Die Forgings

.Cold precision forging directly forges unheated metal materials, mainly including cold extrusion and cold head extrusion. Cold precision forging technology is more suitable for various small-scale production, mainly used for manufacturing automobiles. Various components of motorcycles and some toothed parts.

.Hot precision forging mainly refers to the precision forging process above the recrystallization temperature. The hot precision forging process often uses closed die forging, which requires high precision for molds and equipment. During forging, the volume of the billet must be strictly controlled, otherwise significant pressure may be generated inside the mold. Therefore, when designing closed die forging molds, the principle of shunt pressure reduction is usually used to solve this problem. At present, most of the spur bevel gears used for heavy-duty vehicles in China are produced using this method.

.Temperature forging is a precision forging process that is carried out at an appropriate temperature below the recrystallization temperature. But the forging temperature for temperature forging is narrow. The requirements for the mechanics of mold materials and the mold itself are very high, usually requiring the use of special high-precision forging equipment. The temperature forging process is generally more suitable for large-scale production, forging materials with medium yield strength.

.Composite forming mainly combines cold, warm, and hot forging processes to complement each other's strengths and weaknesses, achieving the expected effect. Composite forming is the standard forging method for high-strength components such as gears and pipe joints.

.Closed forging is a forming process that uses one or two punch heads to repeatedly extrude metal in one or two directions in a closed die, resulting in a precision forging without burrs. Mainly used in the production of bevel gears, automotive constant velocity universal joint star sleeves, pipe joints, cross shafts, bevel gears and other products.

.Isothermal forging refers to forging the billet at a constant temperature. Used for deformation temperature sensitivity. Difficult to form metal materials and parts such as titanium alloy, aluminum alloy, thin web plate, and high reinforcement.

.Split forging is the process of establishing a material split cavity or channel in the blank or forming part of the mold to fill the material. Split forging is mainly used for the cold forging process of spur gears and helical gears.
